The pay period is Monday to Saturday midnight. Your first pay will be issued the week following your first week of work and each week thereafter.
Direct deposit or cheque
If applicable, your pay will be deposited in your bank account on Thursday at midnight if you provide us with a specimen cheque so that direct deposits can be made.
You can also opt to receive your pay cheque by mail; even though cheques are mailed out Tuesday evening, you should count on at least two days before receiving them. We are not responsible for any delays that may be caused by Canada Post.
If you prefer, you can drop by our Montreal office and pick up your cheque in person, any time after 1pm on Thursday.
Vacation pay and record of employment
A vacation pay is accumulated in your employee record and delivered to you when your employment terminates, or when you take your annual vacation.
For each statutory public holiday, employees must be paid an indemnity equal to 1/20 of the wages earned during the four complete weeks of pay leading up to the week of the holiday, not counting overtime.
To be entitled to compensation for a statutory public holiday, employees must not have been absent from work without the employer’s authorization or without valid cause on the business day preceding or following the holiday.
